There were some nice little surprises awaiting me when I took my first trip to South Africa. One of those was the proliferation of gorgeous, exotic flowers EVERYWHERE! Within a couple of hours after venturing out of our hotel, I knew that I was going to love this country because beauty and color filled the landscape. Even in the city of Cape Town, flower markets were around every corner, and spacious, well maintained flower beds were a big wow factor in the area where we stayed near the waterfront. Our hotel had a fabulous breakfast buffet, and as creatures of habit my husband and I tended to sit in the same area each morning. Every day while we ate breakfast, I couldn't help but notice the huge flower arrangements placed on a table just behind my husband as I looked at him across the table. At least three feet tall, they were the centerpiece of this huge dining area. One day I took my camera with me to breakfast and took a few shots of that day's colorful arrangement of two containers filled to the brim and exquisitely arranged. I have digitally enhanced my original photograph to achieve a more artistic presentation.
