Description
No trip to Africa is complete without the safari experience! When the word safari is used, many don't readily think about anything but the larger game that are commonly sighted on these wonderful excursions. However, I found out first hand that there are also amazing birds and many unusual small animals that are an integral part of the game drive experience. This juvenile red billed hornbill was perched in an acacia tree as we passed by while on the safari road in Kruger National Park on a perfect morning in South Africa. He not only was strikingly beautiful but had a loud call that added to the amazing experience!

Wonderful capture of this fascinating bird, well-framed in the acacia tree, with its thorns and leaves! l/f
