Description

Turkeys are a common sight in Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I often pass them by, though, unless it's mating season and there's a male strutting in full plumage trying to attract attention from the ladies. That was the case in this photo, and he was a handsome fellow, but unfortunately the day was quite overcast so his feathers are not as colorful as they are when caught by the sunlight. I ended up liking the shot, though, because of the hen in the background who is paying him no mind as he shows off right in front of her.
