Artist's Description
Daybreak in Yellowstone National Park can be a spiritual experience! As my husband and I stood along the side of the road photographing elk and listening to the morning bugle calls of the bulls in the herd, first light arrived over Electric Peak and made me forget all about the elk for a few minutes as I turned my tripod and camera to the mountains across the road. The sun was rising above the horizon directly behind me, casting a beautiful. soft pink glow on the top of the peak and clouds above. Minute by minute, the light was moving and the sky was changing, but I especially loved this moment before the sun rose higher in the sky and created so many harsh shadows.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
