It's turkey mating season in Cades Cove and this handsome fellow just can't help himself! Trying to look his best in front of a nearby female who never even looked his way, he strutted around and followed her at a short distance, trying desperately to get a little attention. This is a common sight during April in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is very near my home in Tennessee. I love to get to Cades Cove as much as possible because there's always a show going on somewhere! Very soon after turkey mating season comes bear mating season, and that's when the fun really begins...
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
